Abraham (1967:24-25) reports that Igbo has 4 ways of marking the plural overtly – enclitic ga (compatible with all nouns), 2 oppositional constructions invlolving 2 nouns, wmw ‘children’ (used with some human nouns and other animates) and ndi ‘persons’ (used with human nouns), and a postposed free-standing morpheme ha, presumably derived from the 3Pl pronoun (used with some nouns denoting animals).
