    seems to show a contradiction between features 28 and 50 for Hunzib.

    The definition of “case-marking” is somewhat different in Feature 28 and Feature 50. This may not be fully explicit in the text, and it illustrates the difficulty of making the definitions of one’s typological concepts fully explicit. But the most important general point is that different typologists often work with somewhat different concepts even if they use the same terms for them.

    I think it likely that the difference is in their use of the term \syncretism\ rather than in their use of the term \case marking\.

    But either way, just as you say, it is not adequately explained in the text.
