    Dahl and Vellupilai state that there is an inflectional future in Kutenai. In Garvin (1948: 171) the prefix -cxa?l- is cited as indicating future tense. If Garvin is right, then this datavalue is wrong since some tense inflection exists. Please advise.

    The future marker cxal is a separate word. It is a preverb and there is no limit to the number of preverbs that can precede a verb. Garvin represents many morphemes as affixes that Morgan (1991) treats as separate words. I believe Morgan is correct.
