Note:: Very high exposure to erosion (intensive use in daily life) but little chance of semantic shift. Another problem with "I" is that it is monosyllabic in many languages - and monosyllabic resemblances between two languages are statistically more exposed to chance resemblance.

Concept list:: Beaufils 2015 18; This list is proposed as part of the eLinguistics.net project which aims to automatically compare languages all over the world by means of 18 words which are converted to sound classes and compared for similarity by using pre-established scores for sound-correspondence probability (using the findings by Brown et al. 2013). According to the compiler, the selection of the words was based on a comparison of proposed concept lists (e.g. by Yakhontov 1956 35, Dolgopolsky 1964 15, and Holman 2008 40) along with a test of the performance of the words in producing senseful language trees based on the algorithm proposed by the eLinguistics.net project.
