The given 200-item list was used in the investigation into the speech variations among the Berta community in order to determine if Berta is a homogeneous language group with multiple dialects or multiple languages spoken within one ethnic group. It was assembled specifically for Berta varieties to test some of the lexemes which were assumed to be either variant or stable throughout the speech area.
